Great news for electric car enthusiasts!
As more ADIs consider moving to hybrid or electric vehicles, the Nissan Leaf has reached a huge milestone!
The question of whether we should be moving away from conventional petrol and diesel cars, and more towards hybrid or electric vehicles seems to be coming up daily at the moment, with the need to be more environmentally friendly weighing more on the collective consciousness.
We are seeing more and more ADIs becoming interested in EV, especially with the longer range of newer models. Price point remains a real challenge and realistically will be prohibitive for many learners.
2019 saw the EV named What Car car of the year for the first time, in the form of the Kia e-Niro. Other brands have been showcasing upcoming and concept models in the past 12 months, some of which we will no doubt see hitting showrooms into 2020.
But how big is this EV revolution? Well stats released today show, one of the early entries, the Nissan Leaf, has reached a huge milestone of 400,000 unit sales!
The Nissan Leaf was introduced just eight years ago in 2010, and celebrated selling 200,000 cars in December 2015.
The majority of those sales came from the US, Japan and Europe, and this will hopefully pave the way to seeing more eco-friendly vehicles on the road!
